My Passion, My Profession

Many do say that today Job opportunities are so scarce and almost all our graduates are still sitting at their various homes doing nothing.
Well, everyone should have a profession, but not everyone realizes it. Many of our graduates are in search of white collar jobs, while inside of them, there are ideas that will create job opportunities.
People today crave to be employees, meanwhile few resources do they just need to put together to become employers.
A Graduate of Mechanical Engineering will say He has no profession due to so many reasons, but in this piece I’ll mention two.
1.       It wasn’t His desire from the on-set to be an engineer.
2.       He is being blindfolded by ignorance (that’s if He has so much passion for Engineering).
Every man has treasures that will make fortunes on the inside of Him. But many have placed so much dependence on others.
Imagine this; every natural resources that make any Nation’s wealth is being found below the earth crust, and religiously speaking, even Man was formed from the earth crust. Don’t you think every man also has natural resources inside Him that can make Him wealthy? Yes, but many are so ignorant of this. They blow away their passion in pursuit of the progress of another man’s passion.
Your passion lies in talking, but people’s opinion says you are loquacious. Your passion lies in sewing, but people’s opinion says tailors are not always successful.
Do you live your life based on people’s opinion?
Fela Durotoye talks, and He’s a successful Public Speaker today.
Makun Olorunyomi [Yomi Casual] is a tailor, and He’s also successful in it.
You can make it only if you set your mind on it. BE Creative, USE your initiative, Make your passion your profession. If you do what you Love, then you’ll love what you do.
The reason why Job opportunities are scarce is  because many of us have given up on creating them.
Discover your passion and create a job opportunity.

SELAH!

Think about these things;

What drives you?....
What pushes you?....
What motivates you to achieve your dreams or achieve your goals?....
What makes your passion come alive?...

Our dreams and visions need a drive, something great to enhance its accomplishment. The level at which you allow yourself to be driven gives you the speed you need to make your little seed sprout and your visions big till you achieve what you want.
Not everything that drives you could be positive, Some people are driven by fear, some by resentment, some are even driven by other people's opinion, but would these ones really bring out the best in you, you have to be driven by something greater, something that works in line with the purpose of your creator for your life.
Find out what drives you today...meditate on it...act on it...see as u move a step closer to ur destination...

ANYONE COULD BE A LEADER, BUT NOT EVERYONE IS A LEADER.

Almost everyone craves for a post of leadership. We have those with a defined purpose and there are those who pursue self interest. Well, anyone could be a leader but not everyone can be a true leader due to insufficient or no understanding of the concept of leadership.
Rephrasing the last sentence; "anyone could attain a post of leadership, but not everyone who does is a true leader".
The post of leadership is admirable, but it comes with a lot of responsibilities that most people who admire are not willing to take up. Anyone could be a leader if they would only chose to take responsibility.
There are 3 things I know, that defines a true leader,
•Foresight
•Ownership
•Initiative

The concept of leadership is not restricted to these three words, but these three play a key role in the life of every leader.

> FORESIGHT:
according to wikipedia, Foresight is the ability to predict or plan for the future.
A leader should have foresight, and be able to challenge himself.
In management/business context, Foresight is sometimes termed "vision".
The Bible said some things about writing a vision and making it plain, that He who reads it may run with it. A leader should be a vision writer, and must always be in motion, running with His vision that His followers may also run with him.
Leaders are always in motion, if a leader is not moving, He can't have followers.

>OWNERSHIP:
this is the state or fact of being an owner.
Part of the responsibilities of a leader is taking ownership, accepting your success and your failures.
Taking ownership entails no excuses, not blaming others for your failure. A leader should know that failure always creates an avenue for a better trial. Well, as much as it is hard to believe, failure creates motivation to do better in the next trial.
A leader should take ownership for even the faults of His followers.

>INITIATIVE:
this is the ability to access and start up things independently. Basically, a leader should be able to kick-off innovative plans, creating an exceptional pattern for the follower to walk through. Atimes people really do need to see what they haven't seen before to accredit a true leader.
One thing that defines a leader is His initiative, the power or opportunity to act or take charge before others do.

Anyone who can work with these three things, F.O.I. [Foresight Ownership Initiative] is the one who is really a leader.

Food For Thought..

What you don't know doesn't kill you as fast as what you know does, likewise what you don't know doesn't add value to your life as what you know does.
Ok then, Knowledge is power; lack of knowledge is what? Think about it, isn't it possible I know something about everything?, Oh! A dilapidated community like the one I grew in would tag you as what they call, "I too know". Well, it's not their fault, it is due to the restrictions they set themselves in.
So funny how people quote, "Jack of all trade, master of none", well, Jack mustnt be involved in all trade, but isnt it an added advantage for Jack to have an idea of all trade?.
Ok, you're setting limitations to your level of knowledge?, think about this; What exactly do I know?.
